Artificial Molecule Could Stop Allergic Reactions
Some allergies such as a peanut allergy or a bee sting, could potentially hospitalize or kill the person allergic. People from Stanford University of Medicine has found something that should be able to stop severe allergic reactions, in seconds. When a regular allergen enters the body, the body creates a type of antibody, which stays in the body afterwards. When the same allergen enters the body, it binds with the antibody causing those cells to release inflammatory mediators, which causes a severe allergic reaction. Its called DARPin E2-79 and it contains a certain protein which stops the antibody.
